śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca:
śuklatīrthasya cotpattimākarṇaya nareśvara /
yasya saṃdarśanādeva brahmahatyā pralīyate //
Śrī Mārkaṇḍeya said: / Hear, O ruler of men, the origin of Śuklatīrtha, / from the mere sight of which the murder of a brāhmaṇa dissolves.
