tatas tair dharmapālais tu dharmarājapracoditaiḥ /
nirīkṣitā purāṇoktā karmajā gatirāgatiḥ //
Then, impelled by the King of Dharma, those guardians of Dharma
examined the destiny and return born of action, as spoken in the Purāṇas.
