mṛtasyaikādaśāhe tu bhuñjānaḥ śvopajāyate /
pratiśrutya dvijāyārtham adadan madhuko bhavet //

One who eats on the eleventh day after a death is born a dog;
one who promises wealth to a twice-born but does not give it becomes a cuckoo.
