svakarmavihitānyeva dṛśyante yaistu mānavāḥ /
tato janma tato mṛtyuḥ sarvajantuṣu bhārata //

determined by their own actions, are seen on human beings.
Thence comes birth, thence comes death among all living beings, O Bhārata.
