161.8

mārgaśīrṣasya māsasya kṛṣṇapakṣe ca yāṣṭamī /
sopavāsaḥ śucirbhūtvā liṅgaṃ sampūrayet tilaiḥ /
yathāvibhavasāreṇa gandhapuṣpaiḥ samarcayet //

And on the eighth day of the dark fortnight of the month of Mārgaśīrṣa, / having fasted and become pure, one should cover the liṅga with sesame seeds, / [and] according to the extent of one's wealth, worship it with fragrant scents and flowers.
