śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca:
evaṃ saṃstūyamānastu brahmādyair munipuṃgavaiḥ /
brahmalokagataistatra saṃjahāra jagatprabhuḥ //
The venerable Mārkaṇḍeya said:
While being praised in this way by Brahmā and the foremost of sages / who had gone to the realm of Brahmā, the Lord of the universe withdrew [the world].
