paryaṭase kimarthaṃ tvaṃ niśīye vahanaṃ nu kim /
kṣiptaṃ tu jholikābhāraṃ kiṃvāgamanakāraṇam /
vyathāmutpādya ṛṣaye duḥkhādduḥkhavilāsini //
'Why do you wander at dead of night? What is this load being carried?
This heavy basket thrown about—what is the reason for your coming,
causing pain to the sage, O woman who revels in misery after misery?'
