sarve te tatra sāṃnidhyān māṇḍavyasya mahātmanaḥ /
saṃbhrāntā āgatā ūcuḥ kiṃ mṛtaḥ kiṃ nu jīvati //
They all came in distress into the presence of the noble Māṇḍavya / and said: 'Is he dead, or does he still live?'
