evamukte tayā vākye stambhite 'rke tamomayam /
na ca prajāyate sarvaṃ nirvaṣaṭkārasatkriyam //
When these words were spoken by her and the sun was arrested, / [the world] became full of darkness, nothing was born, and the proper rites with the vaṣaṭ-call ceased.
