yudhiṣṭhira uvāca:
aśvamedho mahāyajño bahusambhāradakṣiṇaḥ /
aśakyaḥ prākṛtaiḥ kartuṃ kathaṃ teṣāṃ phalaṃ labhet //

Yudhiṣṭhira said: / The horse sacrifice is a great rite requiring many preparations and sacrificial fees, / impossible for ordinary men to perform; how may one obtain their fruit?
