śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca:
tato bhṛguḥ śriyā caiva sametaḥ kacchapaṃ gataḥ /
abhinandya yathānyāyam uvāca vacanaṃ śubham //

The venerable Mārkaṇḍeya said: / Then Bhṛgu, together with Śrī, went to the tortoise. / Having greeted it appropriately, he spoke auspicious words:
