sa śaṅkaro brahmahatyāvihīnaṃ mene ātmānaṃ tasya tīrthasya bhāvāt /
suvismito devadevo vareṇyo dṛṣṭvā dūre brahmahatyāṃ ca tīrthāt //
That Śaṅkara considered himself freed from brahmanicide through the power of that pilgrimage place; / exceedingly astonished, the preeminent god of gods beheld brahmanicide kept far away from the pilgrimage place.
