sa eva rudraḥ sa jagajjahāra sṛṣṭyarthamīśaḥ prapitāmaho 'bhūt /
saṃrakṣaṇārthaṃ jagataḥ sa eva hariḥ sucakrāsigadābjapāṇiḥ //
He alone is Rudra who destroyed the universe; for the sake of creation the Lord became the Grandfather;
for the protection of the universe he alone is Hari, bearing the auspicious discus, sword, mace, and lotus in his hands.
