śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca:
evaṃ niśamya vacanaṃ gauryā dvijavarottamaḥ /
namaskṛtya jagāmāśu dharmarāja niveśanam //

Glorious Mārkaṇḍeya said: / Having heard this speech of Gaurī, the foremost of excellent brahmins, / bowed, and swiftly went to the abode of Dharmarāja.
