rājā tu tamṛṣiṃ śrutvā niṣkrāntaḥ saha bandhubhiḥ /
prasādayāmāsa tadā śūlastham ṛṣisattamam //

The king, however, having heard about that sage, went out together with his kinsmen; / he then appeased that best of sages who was on the stake.
