198.57

śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca:
tenaivamukte sahasā kṛtvā bhūmaṇḍalaṃ dvidhā /
niḥsṛtau śūlamūlāgrālliṅgārcāpratirūpiṇau //

The venerable Mārkaṇḍeya said:
When he had spoken thus, having suddenly split the earth into two, / the two of them emerged from the base and the tip of the stake, embodied as a liṅga and an image.
