janamejaya uvāca:
dvaipāyanaprasādena jñānavānasi me mataḥ /
vaiśaṃpāyana tasmāt tvāṃ pṛcchāmi ṛṣisannidhau //

Janamejaya said: / By the grace of Dvaipāyana, you are considered by me to possess knowledge; / Therefore, O Vaiśaṃpāyana, I ask you in the presence of the sages:
