pṛthivyāṃ dahyamānāyāṃ havirgandhaśca jāyate /
tato me śuṣyate gātraṃ tṛṣāpyevaṃ durāsadā //
As the earth was burning, the smell of sacrificial oblations arose; / then my limbs dried up, and thirst also became intolerable.
