mṛtaḥ śunatvaṃ cāpnoti varṣāṇāṃ tu śatatrayam /
tatastasya kṣaye jāte kākayoniṃ vrajetpunaḥ //
When dead, he attains the state of a dog for three hundred years; / then, when that is exhausted, he enters the womb of a crow again.
