śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca:
tadāprabhṛti tattīrthaṃ khyātiṃ prāptaṃ pitāmahāt /
sarvapāpaharaṃ puṇyaṃ sarvatīrtheṣvanuttamam //

The venerable Mārkaṇḍeya said:
From that time on, that pilgrimage place attained fame from the grandfather [Brahmā];
removing all sins, meritorious, supreme among all pilgrimage places.
