tena dānotthapuṇyena pūtātmāno narādhipa /
vasanti romasaṃkhyāni varṣāṇi śivasannidhau //
Purified in soul by the religious merit arising from that gift, O king, / they dwell in the presence of Śiva for as many years as the number of hairs [on their bodies].
