sarveṣām eva ratnānāṃ kāñcanaṃ ratnamuttamam /
agnitejaḥsamudbhūtaṃ tena tatparamaṃ bhuvi //
Of all jewels, gold is the supreme jewel; / it originated from the fiery energy of Agni, and therefore it is the most supreme on earth.
