tato 'sau daṃśamaśakān pipīlikasamudbhavān /
yūkāmatkuṇakāḍhyāṃśca gatvā pakṣitvam āgataḥ //

Then, having been born as gadflies, mosquitoes, and ants, / and full of lice and bedbugs, he attained the state of a bird.
