baṭuruvāca:
vidyārthinamanuprāptaṃ viddhi māṃ dvijasattama /
dadāsi yadi me vidyāṃ tataḥ sthāsyāmi te gṛhe //
The young student said: / 'Know me, O best of twice-born, to have come as a seeker of knowledge; / if you will give me knowledge, then I shall reside in your house.'
