guruśuśrūṣayā vidyā puṣkalena dhanena vā /
athavā vidyayā vidyā bhavatīha phalapradā //
Knowledge is given through service to the preceptor, or through abundant wealth, / or through exchange of knowledge; [only thus] does it become fruitful in this world.'
