etatte sarvamākhyātaṃ yatpṛṣṭo 'haṃ purā tvayā /
utpattikāraṇaṃ tāta viśalyāyā nareśvara //
All this has been recounted to you, about which I was asked formerly by you, / the cause of the origin of the Viśalyā, my dear king.

|| iti śrīskānde mahāpurāṇa ekāśītisāhasryāṃ saṃhitāyāṃ pañcama āvantyakhaṇḍe revākhaṇḍe narmadāmāhātmye viśalyāsambhavo nāma dvāviṃśo 'dhyāyaḥ ||
|| Thus ends the twenty-second chapter, named 'The Origin of the Viśalyā', in the glorification of the Narmadā, in the Revākhaṇḍa, in the fifth Avantyakhaṇḍa, in the glorious Skandapurāṇa of eighty-one thousand verses.
