kārttikyāṃ tu viśeṣeṇa kathitaṃ śaṅkareṇa tu /
tacchṛṇuṣva nṛpaśreṣṭha sarvapāpāpanodanam //

Especially on the full-moon day of Kārttika, [its glory] was proclaimed by Śaṅkara. / Hear that, O best of kings, which removes all sins:
