mārkaṇḍeya uvāca:
iti duḥkhānvitā mūḍhā tābhyāṃ nirbhartsitā satī /
tanuṃ tyaktuṃ manaścakre prāpya tīrthāntaraṃ kvacit //

Mārkaṇḍeya said: / Thus filled with sorrow, deluded, and severely rebuked by the two, / she resolved to abandon her body, having reached some pilgrimage place or other.
