ṣaṣṭitīrthasahasrāṇi ṣaṣṭikoṭistathaiva ca /
ādimadhyāvasāneṣu narmadāyāṃ pade pade //
There are sixty thousand pilgrimage places and likewise sixty crores [of them], / at the beginning, in the middle, and at the end, at every step along the Narmadā.
