mārkaṇḍeya uvāca:
tatraiva saṅgame rājanbhaktyā paramayā nṛpa /
prāṇāṃstyajanti ye martyāste yānti paramāṃ gatim //
Mārkaṇḍeya said: / At that very confluence, O king, those mortals who abandon their life-breaths with supreme devotion, / O protector of men, attain the highest state.
