narmadā pūjitā tena bhagavāṃśca maheśvaraḥ /
vācake pūjite tadvaddevāśca ṛṣayo 'rcitāḥ //
by him the Narmadā is worshipped, and the blessed Maheśvara; / likewise, when the reciter is worshipped, the gods and sages are honored.
