śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca:
sādhu sādhu mahābhāga yatpṛṣṭo 'haṃ tvayādhunā /
śṛṇuṣvaikamanā bhūtvā kāverīphalam uttamam //
The venerable Mārkaṇḍeya said: / Excellent, excellent, O highly fortunate one, that I have now been asked by you! / Listen with single-minded attention to the supreme fruit of the Kāverī.
