auṣadhīnāṃ kṣaye ghore devadānavavarjite /
nirvīrye nirvaṣaṭkāre kalinā dūṣite bhṛśam //

during the terrible destruction of herbs, when [the world] was abandoned by gods and demons, / destitute of vigor, devoid of the vaṣaṭ-call, and exceedingly corrupted by Kali;
