narmadāyās taṭe tena sthāpitaḥ parameśvaraḥ /
tenaiva kāraṇenāsau narmadeśvara ucyate //
The Supreme Lord was installed by him on the bank of the Narmadā; / for that very reason he is called Narmadeśvara.
