aṣṭamyāṃvā caturdaśyāṃ nirāhāro vaset tu yaḥ /
narmadeśvaramāsādya prāpnuyājjanmanaḥ phalam //
He who, fasting, dwells [there] on the eighth or fourteenth day, / approaching Narmadeśvara, attains the fruit of his life.
