tasmād āsīt samudbhūtā mahāpuṇyā saridvarā /
yā sā tvayārṇave dṛṣṭā padmapatrāyatekṣaṇā //
From that arose the most holy, best of rivers / whom you saw on the ocean, with eyes long as lotus petals.
