etāṃścānyānvarāndivyānprārthito nṛpasattama /
narmadayā tataḥ prāha prasanno vṛṣavāhanaḥ //

Thus requested for these and other divine boons, O best of kings,
by the Narmadā, the bull-riding [Lord], being pleased, then spoke:
