jātamātraṃ ca taṃ garbhaṃ gṛhītvā brāhmaṇī ca sā /
aśvatthacchāyām āśritya tam utsṛjya vaco 'bravīt //

And as soon as he was born, that brahmin woman took that offspring, / resorted to the shade of an aśvattha tree, and abandoning him, spoke these words:
