śanaiścara uvāca:
krūrasvabhāvaḥ sahajo mama dṛṣṭistathedṛśī /
muñcasva māṃ tathā kartā yadbravīṣi na saṃśayaḥ //
Śanaiścara said: / 'Cruelty is my inborn nature, and such is my gaze; / release me, and I shall do what you say; there is no doubt.'
