etatpuṇyaṃ pāpaharaṃ dhanyaṃ duḥsvapnanāśanam /
paṭhatāṃ śṛṇvatāṃ caiva sarvapāpakṣayo bhavet //
This is meritorious, removing sins, auspicious, and destructive of bad dreams; / for those who read and hear it, all sins shall be destroyed.

|| iti śrīskānde mahāpurāṇa ekāśītisāhasryāṃ saṃhitāyāṃ pañcama āvantyakhaṇḍe revākhaṇḍe narmadāmāhātmye pippalādatīrthamāhātmyavarṇanaṃ nāma dvicatvāriṃśo 'dhyāyaḥ ||
|| Thus ends the forty-second chapter, entitled 'Description of the Glorification of the Pilgrimage Place of Pippalāda', in the glorification of the Narmadā, in the Revākhaṇḍa of the Avantyakhaṇḍa, in the Skanda Mahāpurāṇa of eighty-one thousand verses.
