tathāniṣṭatarāṇāṃ hi rudrasya vacanaṃ yathā /
narmadā saritāṃ śreṣṭhā rudradehād viniḥsṛtā //
Even for those who are most unfortunate, as is the word of Rudra: / The Narmadā is the best of rivers, issued from the body of Rudra.
