giriṃ vivyādha śūlena bhinnaṃ tena rasātalam /
nirmalaṃ cābhavacchūlaṃ na lepo dṛśyate kvacit //
He pierced the mountain with his trident, and by it the netherworld was cleft open; / and the trident became clean; no stain was seen anywhere.
