pāpācārāśca ye martyāḥ snānaṃ teṣāṃ na jāyate /
saṃrakṣanti ca tattīrthaṃ devabhṛtyagaṇāḥ sadā //
And mortals of sinful conduct do not attain the sacred bath; / and the attendants of the gods always protect that pilgrimage place.
