narma caibhyo dade yasmāt tatkṛtaiś ceṣṭitaiḥ pṛthak /
bhaviṣyasi varārohe saricchreṣṭhā tu narmadā //

'Since you gave delight (narma) to these [gods] through each of their distinct actions, / you shall be Narmadā, O fair-hipped woman, the best of rivers!'
