yathaivāśmāśmanābaddho nikṣipto vārimadhyataḥ /
dvāvetau nidhanaṃ yātas tadvad annam apātrake //
Just as a stone bound to a stone and thrown into the midst of water, / both of these go to destruction, so does food given to an unworthy recipient.
