dhūpadīpādinaivedyaiḥ sraṅmālāgurucandanaiḥ /
arcāṃ kurvanti ye viṣṇoḥ paṭheyuḥ prāktanīṃ kathām //

Those who perform worship of Viṣṇu with incense, lamps, food-offerings, / garlands, aloe, and sandalwood, should recite the ancient narrative.
