tapatastasya devasya śūlāgrādbindavo 'patan /
tenaiṣā śoṇasaṃjñā tu daśa sapta ca tāḥ smṛtāḥ //
As that god practiced austerities, drops fell from the tip of his trident; / because of that she is named Śoṇā, and they are remembered as seventeen.
