tato mahāghano bhūtvā plāvayāmāsa vāriṇā /
kṛṣṇaṃ kṛṣṇavapus tvenāṃ vidyuccandrāyudhāṅkitām //

Then, having become a great cloud, he flooded with water / this dark [earth] whose form was blackened, marked with lightning and the bow of the moon.
