tasminmahārṇave ghore naṣṭe sthāvarajaṅgame /
mayūraṃ svarṇapatrāḍhyam apaśyaṃsahasā jale /
vicitracandrakopetaṃ nīlakaṃṭhaṃ sulocanam //

in that terrifying great ocean, when the stationary and moving had perished, / I suddenly saw a peacock in the water, rich with golden wings, / endowed with multicolored eyes [on its plumage], with a blue neck and beautiful eyes.
