kadrūr uvāca:
brūhi bhadre sahasrāṃśor aśvaḥ kiṃvarṇako bhavet /
ahaṃ bravīmi kṛṣṇo 'yaṃ tvaṃ kiṃ vadasi tadvada //
Kadrū said: / Tell me, auspicious one, of what colour could the horse of the thousand-rayed [Sun] be? / I say he is black; what do you say? Speak that!
